What is the 'ID re-verification'?
In order to ensure safe and secure trading, current HighLow customers may be asked to re-verificate their identity. The re-verification process can be completed easily online and can take only 5 minutes of your time. You will be notified by email if you require re-verification. Please read through the email and prepare one of the identification documents required for the procedure and proceed to the verification process.
What identification documents do I need to re-verify my ID?
You will need to submit one of the following photo identification documents;
- Driver's licence
- My number card
- Residence card
- Driving record certificate
- Passport (must be issued in Japan before 3 February 2020)

How do I perform the re-verification?
It is encouraged to use your smartphone to complete the re-verification. The steps are as follows;
1. Login to HighLow:
An email with the subject line ‘[Important] Re-verification of your ID is required’ has been sent to the customers who require re-verification. If you receive the email, log in to HighLow, then you’ll see a message displayed on the trading platform.
2. Proceed to re-verification:
Click ‘re-verify your identity’ button on the message displayed or the banner on the trading platform, then you will be redirected to the LIQUID Corporation page where the identity verification process is carried out. Please follow the instructions on the screen to complete the verification process. (For more information, please read STEP 2 here).
3. Re-verification submitted:
Once you've submitted your ID documents successfully, you'll receive an email confirming that your ID has been received. Please wait a few moments while your ID documents are being verified. Please note that you can continue to trade as usual while your ID is being reviewed.
Is there expiry for the re-verification?
Yes, there is expiry. This is stated in the email we send you regarding the re-verification or in the message after you have logged in to your trading account, so please complete the re-verification before the expiry.
What happens if I do not complete the re-verification?
Please understand this request is to protect the safety of your account and to ensure you have a smooth trading experience.
We believe it is important not to simply apply a blanket rule to all our traders since they are all unique to us. For this reason, it is difficult for me to confirm what may happen to your account if you choose not to proceed with the request.

Can I still complete the re-verification after expiry?
Yes, however, your account may be limited after expiry. As Re-KYC is part of HighLow's effort to enhance the customer due diligence, we highly recommend that you complete the process ASAP to regain your uninterrupted access.

What kind of limitations may apply to my account?
Our team uses various technologies to detect abnormal trading behaviour so it is very hard for us to list them and we regularly update our approach to ensure we are using the latest technology. The purpose of this approach is to protect your account.
